“‘You also must be ready all the time, for the Son of Man will come when least expected.”
Like 12:40 NLT
Title - “Our Lord’s Surprise Visits”
Underlines:
“A Christian worker’s greatest need is a readiness to face Jesus Christ at any and every turn.”
“…the need is the face HIM.”
“He appears where we least expect Him…”
“This readiness will not be brought about by service, but through intense spiritual reality, expecting Jesus Christ at every turn.”
“…expectation will give our life the attitude of childlike wonder…”
“…we have to stop being religious. In other words, we must stop using religion as if it were some kind of a lofty lifestyle - we must be spiritually real.”
“You should trust no one, and even ignore the finest saint on earth if he blocks your sight of Jesus Christ.”
Notes:
-expect Hin to show up
-like hunting with expectancy. I am always filled with excitement and wonder, never surprise when something shows up
We must be spiritually real. Any idea of how good you are at being a Christian, is putting focus on yourself, your attitude, and actions. We must simply expect Him to show up and then respond in kind. Christian service is good and right - but the intention of your heart always needs to be checked. Are you trying to make yourself look good publicly or are you just responding to the call.
