Title - “Spiritual Vision Through Personal Character”

Underlines:
“A higher state of mind and spiritual vision can only be achieved through the higher practice of personal character.”
“When God elevated you by His grace into heavenly places, you find a vast plateau where you can move about with ease.”
“God has to hide from is what He does, until, due to growth of our personal character, we get to the level where He is then able to reveal it.”

Notes:

-growth of character - spiritual maturity

We cannot expect God to reveal what/why He does something until we are ready to see it. The devotional talks about spiritual warfare. Because Satan too wants to elevate you through temptation. Satan dangles the carrot of an idea or thought that you might believe will bring you closer to God or make you more holy. Then work and striving and struggle begin to try to attain this goal. When this happens, Chambers says, “Your life becomes a spiritual acrobatic performance high atop a steeple.”

God is not trying to be complicated in His message, or with regard to what He expects from us. If there is a call to service from Him, then run with it! If you think you need to service or do something because you think it might be what God wants, then take a step back and pray for discernment. 

Satan wants us on a hamster wheel. God wants us in His “vast plateau” of freedom.
