OC April 1st
“It is Christ…who also makes intercession for us…the Spirit…makes intercession for the saints…”
Romans 8:34, 27
Title - “Helpful or Heartless Toward Others?”
Underlines:
“…a look at our current circumstances. Do crises which affect us or others in our home, business, country, or elsewhere, seem to be crushing in on us?”
“Beware of getting ahead of God by your very desire to do His will. We run ahead of Him in a thousand and one activities becoming so burdened with people and problems that we don’t worship God, and fail to intercede.”
“…unless we are worshipping God the natural tendency is to be heartless toward them (people we have no interest in). We give them a quick verse of Scripture, like jabbing then with a spear, or leave them with a hurried, uncaring word of counsel before we go.”
Notes:
-COVID-19 (wrote that in margin in 2020 next to line talking about current circumstance, crises)
-we have to be worshipping God to be in tune with Hin and to truly have His heart for people
The passages in Romans talk about how Christ is pleading for us. He is our intercessor. The advocate between a Holy God and sinful man. So we are called to help intercede for others. To come alongside Christ as we pray and plead for others.
