“Dark clouds surround him. Righteousness and justice are the foundation of his throne.” Psalm 97:2 NLV

Oswald Chambers expands on this verse by explaining that to have full understanding of Jesus’ teachings we just have the light inside us. Not the casual way we approach Him through religion. He says we need to be “getting rid of all the excessive informality with which we approach God, to truly see Him.

Some quotes from the devotional:
“… when he is baptized by the Holy Spirit, he finds that “clouds and darkness surround Him. When we come into close contact with the teachings of Jesus Christ we have our first realization of this.”

“Once, the Bible was just so many words to us - clouds and darkness - then, suddenly, the words become spirit and life because Jesus re-speaks them to us when our circumstances make the words new. That is the way God speaks to us; not by visions and dreams, but by words. When a man gets to God it is by the most simple way - words.”

We are always searching for Him. In times of need or praise His responses, His character are revealed to us through His Word - the Bible. I believe all of the answers we seek are hidden in the Holy Scriptures and instead of wringing our hands or worrying, we can read, believe and trust.
