OC January 2nd

Verse from today’s devotional:

“It was by faith that Abraham obeyed when God called him to leave home and go to another land that God would give him as his inheritance. He went without knowing where he was going.” Hebrews 11:8 NLV

Some quotes I highlighted:

“One of the most difficult questions to answer in Christian work is, ‘What do you expect to do?’ You don’t know what you are going to do. The only thing you know is that God knows what He is going to do.”

“God does not tell you what He is going to do - He reveals to you who He is.”

“Believe God is always the God you know Him to be when you are nearest to Him. Then think how unnecessary and disrespectful worry is!”

If we truly believe that God is in control and working a plan in all of our lives - then worry is unnecessary and disrespectful towards God. Surrender not only means giving Him control of our lives, but also understanding that He is in control of other’s lives too - husbands, wives, children, mothers, fathers etc. He craves for us to be there for people in prayer and action in comfort and support - for He will bear our burdens, and promises that in Matthew 11:28-30.
