OC January 23rd

“So all of us who have had that veil removed can see and reflect the glory of the Lord. And the Lord – who is the Spirit – makes us more and more like him as we are changed into his glorious image.”
2 Corinthians 3:18 NLT

Quotes:
“When the Spirit fills us, we are transformed, and by beholding God we become mirrors.”
“Beware of anything that would spot or tarnish that mirror in you. It is almost always something good that will stain it - something good, but not what is best.”
“The busyness of things obscures our concentration on God. We must maintain a position of beholding Him, keeping our lives completely spiritual through and through.”
“Never let a hurried lifestyle disturb the relationship ship of abiding in Him.”

Let the Holy Spirit fill every aspect of our lives and let us be mirrors of God’s character reflecting Him by our words and deeds. Do not tarnish it with pride over your goodness or with sin. Always ask God what He thinks is best.

There is a quote in my Bible. It is from Jim Elliot, a missionary who was martyred in Ecuador:

“Lord, make me a crisis man. Bring those I contact to decision. Let me not be a milepost on a single road. Make me a fork, that men must turn one way or another on facing Christ in me.”

Lord make me your mirror. Help the image of You be so strong in me that it is not just a simple sign posted on the road, but a fork that causes people to think hard about the direction they are headed.
