OC January 16th

“Then I heard the Lord asking, ‘Whom should I send as a messenger to this people? Who will go for us?’ I said, ‘Here I am. Send me.’” Isaiah 6:8 NLT

The calling of God is an important theme to talk about. Today when Chambers discusses the verse he wants us to understand the nature of God,

“The call of God is the expression of God’s nature, not ours.”
“The call of God is not a reflection of my nature; my personal desires and temperament are of no consideration. As long as I dwell on my own qualities and traits and think about what I am suited for, I will never hear the call of God.”

We cannot respond to a call if we are dictating the terms of how we can be used. That is negotiating. We cannot disrespect God that way. We have to cast aside any idea of how God may need us and just be open to respond wherever He leads.
