OC January 12th
“In fact, in His public ministry He never taught without using parables; but afterward, when He was alone with His disciples, He explained everything to them.” Mark 3:34 NLT
Chambers discusses the need to be alone with the Lord. To have solitude with Him. We can fill up our time with activities and relationships etc. A lot of the time escaping any kind of quiet for fear of how our minds might start to race. Chambers says,
“We have to get rid of the idea that we understand ourselves. That is always the last bit of pride to go. The only one who understands us is God. . . Whenever there is any element of pride or conceit remaining, Jesus can’t teach us anything.”
We must let God reveal our true self, acknowledging the deep sins that hinder our relationship with Him. He wants to teach us, to show us who we are. Not who we think we are or pretend to be.
That all comes with the leap of faith in acknowledging who Jesus is - and if that matters or not to you. For me, I want to celebrate and honor my Maker.
