Some quotes from today's reading from "My utmost his His highest":
"If you seek great things for yourself, thinking, 'God has called me for this and for that,' you barricade God from using you."
"I must learn that the purpose of my life belongs to God, not me."
"When I stop telling God what I want, He can freely work His will in me without any hindrance."
"Self-pity is of the devil, and if I wallow in it I cannot be used by God for His purposed in the world. Doing this creates for me my own cozy 'world within the world,' and God will not be allowed to move me from it because of my fear of being 'frost-bitten.'"
So my takeaway is that I need to be OK with foregoing any personal plans and submitting to what God might have in store for me. That selfish desires or self-pity are detrimental to my relationship with God.
WHEN I STOP, HE CAN
The focus verse of today is:
"and we sent Timothy to visit you. He is our brother and God's co-worker in proclaiming the Good News of Christ. We sent him to strengthen you, to encourage you in your faith"
1 Thessalonians 3:2 (NLT)
Regardless of the spiritual gifts you think you have or lack - WE CAN ALL ENCOURAGE OTHERS
